The Netherlands is in for a dry and largely sunny weekend, with temperatures climbing to 27° or 28° in the southeast on Saturday, according to weather bureau Weeronline.

Friday will be dry with sunny spells, and temperatures will reach 20° or 21° in the north and west and 22° to 24° elsewhere. On the beaches and the Wadden Islands it will be slightly cooler, at around 19°.

Saturday will be the warmest day of the weekend. The south will see the most sunshine, and in the centre, east and south of the country it will be summery, with temperatures of 25° and above.

The coastal provinces will reach 22° to 24°, although the beaches will be a few degrees cooler. Cloud will pass over the north, where a shower cannot be ruled out.

Sunday will be slightly less warm, with 20° in the northwest and 25° in the southeast, and a mix of sunshine and cloud. The north again has a chance of a few showers.

There may be some rain early next week, particularly in the northeast, but the KNMI’s long-range forecast says there is a 70% chance of a shift to dry, sunny weather from Thursday, with temperatures very likely to be above average and a chance of tropical heat in the southern half of the country around July 11.
