Temperatures of over 20°C can be expected in the Netherlands from early next week, weather forecasters say.
After a mainly dry and sunny Easter weekend, maximum temperatures will rise to as much as 25°C in sheltered places, according to weather bureau KNMI.
Thursday and Friday this week are set to feel chilly, with a strong northwesterly wind, but by Saturday the temperature will climb to around 16°C. It will, however, feel cooler on the northwest coast, KNMI said.
Monday will be dry and possibly a little warmer, but by Tuesday temperatures will shoot up to between 22° and 25°, albeit just for a day or two.
Meanwhile, weather bureau Weeronline says March 2026 is set to be the third sunniest on record, behind 2025 and 2022.
There were an average of 210 hours of sunshine recorded in March, compared with 152 in a “normal” year. The temperature was also over a degree higher than average, while there was less rain.
